In order to celebrate World Tsunami Day on November 3, 2019, DNGL program conducted disaster preparedness activity in Susaki-city, Kochi Pref. Participants with various backgrounds participated in this activity, such as residents people, key persons of community people, representative of Susaki International Association, and community volunteers. Besides that, some students and a lecturer from School of Nursing Gadjah Mada University, who were visiting Faculty of Nursing, University of Kochi for a short exchange program, also joined.

Susaski-city is one of tsunami prone areas in Kochi. Therefore, this activity aimed to prepare community people in Susaki-city to be more ready in facing expected tsunami. This activity focused on improving knowledge of people to manage their lives in the shelter. Through the game that provided to participants, they could imagine the challenges of living in shelter, then discussed it together to tackle and manage the challenges. Professor Sakiko Kanbara and some lecturers of Faculty of Nursing, University of Kochi facilitated the game.

In the other sides, the group from Gajah Mada University played the MegRoll note. This note was developed during disaster relief activity in Mabi-district, Kurashiki-city, Okayama Pref., that affected by big flood on the Heavy rain in July, Heisei 30 (2018). This note was used by the survivors to write their experience during disaster, such as difficulties of living and strategy to manage it. With this note, they can evaluate their experience and make better preparation to face disaster in the future. Therefore, in this Susaski's activity, the group from Gajah Mada University played this note in order to imagine the situation and consider what they should do to encounter and cope with the disastrous situation. A DNGL student from Indonesia, Yudi Ariesta Chandra, facilitated this group on this activity.

In the end, all participants joined the barbeque party for lunch. Both of Japanese and Indonesian participants had a warm and fruitful conversation during the party.
